Village Board Authority & Responsibilities
The Village of Howards Grove operates under the laws of the State of Wisconsin as a village. It is operated by a part-time President-Trustee form of government. The President and six Trustees, collectively the Village Board, are elected by the residents of the Village. The Village Board, as elected representatives of the people, adopt all ordinances and resolutions and determine the general goals and policies of the Village. All Village Board members serve staggered two-year terms. The Village Board positions are paid positions, with the Village President receiving a salary of $3000 per year. Trustees receive $50 per meeting ($25 for meetings 30 minutes or less).
